Who funds political influence in America, and where the money comes from. We use Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) filings, Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Form 990s, Federal Election Commission (FEC) records, and federal lobbying disclosures.

Our standard

Right of reply

We publish what the filings show: funders, officers, spending, foreign registrations, and official government actions. We do not apply labels such as 'anti-American' to any organization as a fact. If a government body has made a finding or a designation, we report it with the source. Otherwise we publish the record and readers draw their own conclusions.

Every organization profiled is offered a chance to respond before publication, and responses are published in full alongside the piece.
